Vacancy - WRFU Rugby Development Manager

Wellington Rugby is now seeking applications for the position of Rugby Development Manager. 

The role is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the WRFU community rugby player development programme, including implementation of a rugby development plan which results in the provision of quality support and development of players and promotion of rugby to larger audiences, in both clubs (senior and junior) and schools (primary and secondary). 

The role will have significant emphasis engaged in the teenage age group environment, where they will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of initiatives, that drives growth and retention in the game at secondary school level. 

This includes driving strategies that build and maintain close working relationships between clubs and secondary schools. In this regard, the Rugby Development Manager will also be responsible for managing the Rugby Administrator in Schools (RAiS) programme, including the monitoring of KPIs set in conjunction with these positions. 

The role will also work closely with the WRFU Coach Development Co-ordinator and Club Coach Development Officer (CDO) Network, which will provide support for development initiatives such as the Under 16 Williment Week programme and junior/school aged events, in promoting the game to the wider Wellington community. 

Potential candidates should be highly organised and self-motivated with programme planning experience. The ability to work as part of a team and build a strong rapport with people from a diverse range of backgrounds is essential. A sound understanding of the Wellington rugby community, in particular the teenage environment would be an advantage.
