Fusi Feaunati Reappointed as Wellington Pride Head Coach for 2025 Season

Wellington Rugby is thrilled to announce that Fusi Feaunati has been reappointed as Head Coach of the Wellington Pride for the 2025 season. This will mark his third consecutive year at the helm of the Pride.

Under Feaunati’s leadership, the Pride have consistently demonstrated excellence, fostering a culture of resilience, connection, and high performance. Fusi’s vision and dedication to women’s rugby have been instrumental in the growth of the Pride.

Feaunati say’s “I am privileged to have the opportunity to continue the vision to build depth, enhancing the pathways systems, aligning to the NZR women and girl's strategic plan. Wellington is blessed with an enormous pool of talented young players, who will develop and grow with the support of the community and high-performance branches of Wellington rugby union. In 2025, we will see strong groupings at all levels, 16's, 18's, Development XV, feeding in to provide sustainability for success in all meaningful competitions, in particular FPC.”

In addition to his role with the Pride, Feaunati has recently been appointed as Head Coach of the Hurricanes Poua for the 2025 Super Rugby Aupiki season. He also brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as Head Coach of the Manawatū Cyclones and as Assistant Coach for the Hurricanes Poua during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. His ongoing commitment to the development of women’s rugby has solidified his reputation as a passionate and inspiring leader in the game.

Wellington Rugby CEO Tony Giles says, “Fusi’s reappointment is a testament to his dedication, leadership, and ability to build a high-performance environment for the Pride. With his strategic vision and passion for the game, we are confident the Pride will continue to grow and achieve success in 2025.”

With Feaunati at the helm, the Pride are set to embark on another exciting season, building on their progress over the previous three years.
