Wellington Rugby Football Union welcomes back Burger King as a Major Partner for 2024

Wellington Rugby Football Union is delighted to welcome Burger King back as a Major Partner for the Wellington Lions and Wellington Pride in 2024.

Burger King has been dishing up flame-grilled goodness since 1954. Since opening its first restaurant in New Zealand in 1993, Burger King has been delivering better burgers for burger lovers throughout the country.

Burger King Spokesperson says, “We’re proud to renew our partnership with the Wellington Lions for another year. It’s an honour to step up into the women’s rugby space and extend our partnership over to the Wellington Pride as well.”

Burger King has a longstanding relationship with the Wellington Lions, as the official sponsors of jersey number 9. They return this year as the new official sponsors of Wellington Pride’s number 9 jersey. 

“We’re thrilled that Burger King have stepped up into the women’s space this year,” remarked WRFU CEO Tony Giles, “To have a reputable organisation like Burger King backing our Pride players is significant and will play a crucial role in helping the game grow.”
