Wellington Rugby Football Union is thrilled to welcome the team from Garage Project board as new partners of the Mills Albert Wellington Lions.

Founded in 2011, right here in Wellington, Garage Project has grown into a renowned craft brewery. Best known for their high-quality brews, and ability to experiment, Garage Project has gained a reputation for pushing the boundaries of traditional brewing.

Garage Project CEO Peter Fenton said, “We love the innovation, energy and exciting playing style of the Wellington Lions – which we think makes for a great match for Garage Project. And as a Wellington company, it’s great we can support our local team - best wishes for the season ahead”.

WRFU CEO Tony Giles added, “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Garage Project to our whānau. Garage Project are one of Wellington’s greatest success stories, and this partnership demonstrates their commitment to giving back to the Wellington community.”

Garage Project is a small brewery based in Aro Valley, Wellington, started by Pete Gillespie, Jos Ruffell, with help from Pete’s brother Ian.  Whether they’re brewing 50 litres or several thousand, they’re here to take some risks, have a bit of fun, and try something new.
