The Upper Hutt Rams Premier team is seeking applications for a 2020 Head Coach who in turn will have the opportunity to select their own assistants. If you are a coach passionate about rugby and developing young players, then we would be excited to hear from you.


Upper Hutt Rams RFC has a proud history of playing attacking rugby built on the tradition of our founding clubs Upper Hutt (93 year history) and Rimutaka (30 year history) which saw the two clubs amalgamate in 2014. The combined club offers a large catchment pool of players from the 600 strong junior section and four colleges (St Pat’s Silverstream, Hutt International Boys, Heretaunga and Upper Hutt).

This role requires a high level of passion, initiative and commitment. Dependant on current qualifications there may be a requirement to upskill as required.

We are seeking applications for the role of Premier Head Coach in 2020.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in:

  • Tactical and technical coaching (for the team and individual)

  • Critical thinking and strategic planning

  • People management

  • Exceptional motivational and communication skills

  • High Performance player development
