Wellington Pride named for Mitre 10 Farah Palmer Cup
The Wellington Pride start their Mitre 10 Farah Palmer Cup campaign tomorrow, away to defending champions Auckland at Auckland University RFC.
Following a very competitive premier club competition, the Wellington Women's representative team has had a solid pre-season build up with wins over Manawatu and Hawkes Bay and are looking forward to a successful national championship where they will be aiming to go one better than last year's runner up position.
The squad has a good blend of youth and experienced campaigners, including the skilful Lizzie Goulden and hard running Amanda Rasch, although tomorrow's game has been affected by player unavailability.
This will only serve to provide a further opportunity for some of the rising young talent in Wellington Women's rugby, such as the exciting Ayesha Leti-Liga, to show off their skills.
Kick off, in a replay of last year's Women's NPC final, is 12 noon tomorrow.
