Wellington Rugby Football Union Aspiring Director opportunity
Do you have passion for community sport?
Wellington Rugby Football Union (“WRFU”) is offering a one-year Aspiring Director role, and we are looking for someone to join our team of eight volunteer Board Directors, as we chart the future of rugby in our region.
The Aspiring Director is not a formal Board Director. You are however expected to fully participate and engage in Board discussions and processes. We would encourage the successful candidate to immerse themselves into all board sub-committees to gain experience across all aspects of governance.
We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference in the community through rugby, and who has:
- A desire to further their governance experience
- An interest or understanding of community sport
- An ability to augment our boards diversity through age, ethnicity, gender or perspective
You will be allocated a director from the current board as your lead support and mentor.
Please note this is a voluntary position for a period of one year. The role is not a pathway or pre-requisite to becoming a WRFU board director.
If you are interested in applying, please register your interest by sending an email to Matt Evans, Chief Executive, WRFU at [email protected] and an application form and support documentation will be sent to you.
Applications close on 5pm on Friday 9 July 2021.
