Wellington U16 squads named for 2021
Wellington Rugby staff and Club Game Development Officers were overwhelmed by the talent and enthusiasm of all players attending Williment week and are pleased to announce the tournament squads.
Squad Black will be coached by Greg Foe & Logan Ngatuere-Ongley. Squad Gold will be coached by Tom Kimber, Dan Miller & John Herbert. This year the decision by WRFU, as ambassadors of the balance is better in youth sport, have decided to select two teams with a balance of skill and ability. This allows all players equitable development and opportunity. The squads will carry 28 players until the naming of the tournament team of 24. This is to give more players an opportunity to develop and time for the coaches to work with players.
We are excited to work with the players in preparing for the tournament in Ruatoria from Monday 4th October to Thursday 7th October.
Players need to be available for the entire tournament week and be committed to the programme. There will be a Meet & Greet with coaches and management on Wednesday 11th August, 6.30pm at the Tawa Rugby Clubrooms.
